Simply doing a Google search for “MBA admissions consultant” will yield 1.8 million results. So, basically you have a lot of choices. Too many choices if you ask me.
Despite the glut of people in this industry, I founded this company because I knew I offered something different and, for some people, something much better than my colleagues.
I thrive on helping the underdog win the day.
Why? Because thriving despite adversity and the odds stacked against you is the story of my life and of my family. My grandparents and parents were migrant farmworkers in rural Florida, I grew up in the infamous Austin, Texas neighborhood of Dove Springs, and I’ve lost a baker’s dozen of cousins, uncles, and aunts to homicide, the AIDS epidemic, and the prison system. Heavy stuff, right? Despite all the drama, I’ve been able to find my passion, which is helping give clarity to the confused and inspiring those who haven’t exactly been set up for success.
This is serious business for me.
Running this business is my full-time job. This is not a hobby, side hustle, or experiment. I wrote a business plan, was awarded $10,000 by the Rock Center at HBS to execute it, and I am determined to grow the business into an enterprise that allows me to use my talents for coaching, writing, audacious goal-setting, and creative production in a way that pays me well for my efforts. I use the amazing education I received at Harvard to make my business better every day, and I even spend thousands of dollars in continuing my learning of the best practices for online businesses. I’m hungry for ways to do things better, more efficiently, creatively, and effectively. When you stop learning, stop earning the admiration of your customers, and stop innovating, you’re dead. And I want to live.
I’m great at what I do.
I’m a born writer and a voracious reader with an eye for a great story. I got myself into Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School despite being “too young,” not having “enough” work experience, and having a low (actually, super-low) GMAT score. I didn’t find the “Get into Harvard” golden ticket in my Wonka bar. I simply put my heart and soul into creating an application that would show them how much a Business-Policy joint degree would mean to my life, my career, and my vision, as well as how much I could contribute in turn.
Since then, I have helped people who are also non-traditional applicants in their own way get admitted to top MBA and Policy programs.
- My client from southeast Africa (of Indian descent) had a GMAT in the low 700s, a GPA under 2.8 and is going to London Business School.
- My client from Saudi Arabia had a GMAT in the low 700s, a GPA under 3.0 and is going to Wharton.
- My client from Eastern Europe had a GMAT under 700, a GPA under 2.7, and is going to Cornell Johnson.
- My client from California had a GMAT under 650, a GPA under 3.5, and is going to Kellogg.
- My client from DC had a GMAT in the low 700s, a GPA under 3.2 and is going to NYU Stern.
- My client from Pakistan had GRE subject scores under 650 each, a GPA under 3.0 and is going to the Fels Institute of Government.
That’s just a selection of the recent success stories of my clients. As you can see, my clients usually have low test scores or low undergraduate GPAs, but they are much more than a collection of numbers.
My clients are people who want to go to business school to do something truly interesting afterward.
Even if they aren’t 100% sure of their path after business school, my clients know that they want to have careers where they are challenged, inspired, and (gasp!) paid well for their talents. They feel a nagging sense of discontent in their current jobs, and wonder what lies beyond the world they have created for themselves since graduating from college (or “uni” as my European-influenced clients like to say!). My clients are current (or future) wellness entrepreneurs, social media marketing pioneers, media moguls, artists, global social entrepreneurs, and corporate transformers (no, not the alien robots–the guys and gals who come into corporations and shake things up for the better).
In summary, I make the process of applying to business school and/or policy school as fun, stress-free, and inspiring as it can be. I know how much time, effort, and energy goes into applying to graduate school and I work with my clients to make sure their efforts are not wasted.
If you sound like my clients that I have described, and I sound like the woman who can help get you into your dream school, contact me about working together.
