Comprehensive coaching is like personal training for your business school and policy school applications.

It’s a process in which we are going to build up your storytelling strength over time as well as help you trim the fat from your essays. We’re giving your application a whole-body makeover (even if you’re starting with a blank piece of paper) but you’ll still be you–just a way more attractive and toned you.

Here’s an example of the tasks we would complete if you started in July to meet an October 3 Round 1 deadline:

Before the first month:

  • You’ll fill out the Client Intake form, and tell me about your college grades, test scores, contact info, and the schools you think you might want to apply to. Using this information, I will create an application tracker for you to help both of us keep track of all the moving parts of your application.
  • You’ll fill out my one-of-a-kind Soul Inventory, where I will ask you lots of personal questions like “Which three pieces of advice would you give your college-aged self?” This is so that I can get to know you outside of your resume and your numbers as well as so that you can begin to unearth some of your hidden stories that you may not have thought of as viable fodder for essays.

First Month: Laying the Groundwork

  • Narrow down your school list.
  • Edit your resume with Kaneisha.
  • Complete first and second drafts of your essays for your #1 and #2 schools, using the feedback and comments received from Kaneisha. Put the essays aside to simmer and marinate.
  • 3 coaching calls to work on brainstorming, story creation, recommender strategy, determining campus visits, and deciding upon any supplemental coursework you may need to take.
  • 3-business day turnaround for materials; 24-hr turnaround for emailed questions.

Second Month: Writing Your A** Off

  • 3 coaching calls focused on playing up your writing strengths and mitigating your weaknesses and any other issues you want to discuss.
  • Put together your recommendation packet with Kaneisha.
  • Complete 4-6 drafts of your essays for your #1, #2, and remaining schools through back and forth editing with Kaneisha.
  • 3-business day turnaround for materials; 24-hr turnaround for emailed questions.

Third Month: Taking Your Application from Good to Great

  • Kaneisha will review all applications for incomplete pieces, blind spots, and weak areas.
  • Complete final edits of essays in preparation for turning in your applications.
  • Review recommendation letters (if possible).
  • Complete and email your completed PDF application (BEFORE submitting) to Kaneisha for editing.
  • Final application page-by-page review of each application.
  • SUBMIT your applications!
  • 3-business day turnaround for materials; 24-hr turnaround for emailed questions.

Fourth Month: The Admissions Interview

  • Schedule mock interview sessions for each school that extends an invitation to interview. (Mock interview sessions are available ONLY to those who have been invited to interview and are included with your upfront payment for each school.)
  • Coaching calls are only scheduled on an as-needed basis.

Fifth Month: The Time of Waiting

  • Continue conducting interviews and waiting for results.
  • Additional coaching calls are only scheduled on an as-needed basis.

Sixth Month: Time to Celebrate!

  • Rejoice as your acceptances roll in!
  • If you are waitlisted, you get an additional month of free coaching to prepare to get off the waitlist.

Shorter client engagements are available, but I highly recommend that clients start working with me at least three months before their applications are due. Spots fill up quickly and rush prices go into effect closer to the deadlines.
