
Amaka received her MBA from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, where she focused her studies on Management and Strategy. During her time at Kellogg, she served as the Marketing and Communications Director of the Africa Business Club, the Strategy and Operations Chair of the Kellogg Photography Club and a member of the MOVE Dance Club. She enjoys travel and took on every opportunity to explore the world through programs such as the Global Immersion in Management class trip to Brazil and Colombia, and studying at INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau, France on an exchange program.
Prior to business school, Amaka was an Assistant Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she managed technology projects of various sizes, from periodic trading application enhancement and daily production support issues, to business-driven or audit-mandated annual projects. She was also a member of the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) program.
She is a management professional whose superpower is combining extensive data analysis with innovation and creative thinking to develop and drive strategies for growth. She has honed and leveraged this skill across industries including Fast-moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Financial Services, Technology and E-Commerce, Travel & Tourism, creating value at established multinationals and indigenous startups alike, and charting a course to sustainable, profitable growth and brand differentiation.
Amaka is currently the Head of Business Development and Innovation, West Africa at Arla Foods, where she is responsibly for defining and driving Arla’s business development, strategy and innovation agenda for the region.
Outside of her 9-to-5, she is a photographer, a graphic designer and a creative consultant, using her passion and skills to help bring visions to life. She is a dancer and an early adopter obsessed with all things innovation, design, new ideas and people.
