Harvard Law School’s acceptance rate is approximately 10.97%, based on the most recent data from the 2024–2025 cycle. Out of 7,235 applicants, 793 received offers of admission, making it one of the most selective law schools in the world.

Yes, the Harvard Law School acceptance rate is low. Yes, the median LSAT score and GPA are sky-high. But Harvard is looking for more than stats—they want future leaders. That means you can stand out through your personal story, leadership, service, or professional experience.

While you don’t need a perfect LSAT score, do your very best. Law schools are heavily weighted toward test scores, and a strong LSAT will also help you secure merit scholarships that can offset that six-figure investment.

The biggest mistake I see is applicants claiming interest in careers they aren’t genuinely passionate about because they think that’s what Harvard wants to hear. Harvard’s admissions committee has seen thousands of applications; they can spot inauthentic positioning immediately. Instead, focus on articulating your real interests with depth and connecting them to your broader mission and impact goals.

2. Start Early—and Strategically

Many people wait too long to begin. If you’re even considering applying to get into Harvard Law School, now is the time to start shaping your materials, securing strong letters of recommendation, and thinking deeply about what matters most to you—and how law school fits into that vision. Giving yourself more time allows for strategy, clarity, and feedback, which can make all the difference in a highly selective process.
