
Renata has built a career bridging finance and social impact in both the U.S. and emerging markets. She is currently embracing the independent consulting lifestyle, working on projects spanning everything from reimagining capitalism to the clean beauty revolution.
Most recently, Renata was an investor at KawiSafi Ventures, where she led due diligence processes and investments in growth stage off-grid energy companies in East Africa. Previously, she was an Investment Banking Associate at BofA Securities and spent 4 years working with the global microfinance network, FINCA International. While at FINCA, she championed the development of new financial solutions targeting bottom-of-the-pyramid entrepreneurs throughout Latin America and Africa.
Renata holds an MBA in Finance and Management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree in International Relations and French from Tufts University. While in business school, Renata founded an ethical fashion brand based in Blantyre, Malawi and consulted for social enterprises and non-profits in the US, Ghana, and Malawi.
She is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya, where she lives with her cat, Simba, and spends her free time volunteering with First Generation college students in the US and trying to keep up with Gen Z on TikTok.
