I’m excited to introduce the first installment in our new video series. To kick off the video series, I interviewed our most experienced consultant, Judy Kugel! Judy served on the admissions committee of Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government (otherwise known as Harvard Kennedy School) for 25 years and has evaluated thousands of applications. Her advice to applicants? Know yourself, and know the program you are applying to.
Schools want to see that you’ve taken the time to consider how THEIR program fits with YOUR interests and career plans. Don’t sell yourself short by submitting a generic application that underwhelms the admissions committee with its lack of focus, specificity, and detail. It’s important to refer to what you know about the program in order to show what you hope to gain from it and how you can contribute to the academic community. This is the first installment of a series of videos featuring all kinds of juicy advice from Judy. P.S. If you’re still deciding on which program is right, be sure to read Heidi’s advice on on our blog how to pick the best school for YOU.
