Jelece received her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where she focused her studies on Entrepreneurship and Innovation. She was a member of the MLT MBA Prep Program, MLT Professional Development Program, and Jumpstart. At Wharton, Jelece was one of 40 Leadership Fellows selected to mentor the next class in leadership and communication. She also served as an Admissions Fellow, Communication Fellow, Welcome Committee Member, and Dance Studio Choreographer. During business school, Jelece explored a number of countries by participating in a Global Modular Course in Argentina, Global Immersion Program in India, and Leadership Venture in Chile.
Prior to attending business school, Jelece was a Technology Consultant at IBM, where she supported federal healthcare agencies with developing applications, expanding their analytic capabilities, and improving operations. She received her Master’s Degree in Health Systems from the Georgia Institute of Technology and her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida.
Currently, Jelece is the Director of Strategy for DaVita, a kidney care company, where she works with operators, physician partners, and payors in the northeast markets to develop and expand integrated kidney care offerings for patients.
In 2020, she founded BoCa Flavor, a seasoning company inspired by her Caribbean culture, focused on promoting healthy eating and diversifying the world’s perspective of Caribbean flavor. In addition, she serves as a General Partner for Cascades Ventures, an investment group dedicated to cascading wealth to the next generation of Black + LatinX investors and founders.
Jelece is a Jamaican-American born in New York and raised in south Florida. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors, training in aerial arts, eating good food, and finding ways to be a resource to her community.
