Tobias received his MBA and Master in Environmental Management (MEM) degrees from Yale University. During his joint degree at Yale, he focused his studies on the intersection of business and the environment with a particular focus on clean energy development and finance. He was an ambassador for the Center of Business and the Environment at Yale (CBEY) and was a leader of the Energy Club at the School of Management. One of his highlights of his three years was volunteering for the Brazilian delegation at the Conference of the Parties (COP 24), the annual UN climate change conference, famous for the signing of the Paris Agreement.
Tobias was a Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) MBA Prep 2017 Fellow. He also was a member of the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management (CGSM) and was elected to serve as one of four Consortium liaisons for the School of Management. During his three years at Yale in the joint degree program, he was awarded the Carl W. Knobloch, Jr. Fellowship as well as the Jacqueline C. and John P. Hullar Scholarship.
Tobias received his bachelor’s in science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida. Prior to graduate school, Tobias worked as a Project Engineer for ExxonMobil. As a Project Engineer, he led multi-million-dollar control system projects across the United States from Alabama to California and from Texas to Wyoming. His work there crystalized for him how important the energy infrastructure is in the transition to clean and sustainable energy.
After graduate school, Tobias worked at Inclusive Prosperity Capital, a start-up investment fund that was a spin-out of the Connecticut Green Bank. As part of the Transaction team there, he was a financial modeling specialist helping non-profits, religious institutions, schools, and municipalities reduce their electricity demand through energy efficiency initiatives as well as supply their remaining energy needs through solar projects. Tobias currently works in renewable energy at a large tech company as a negotiator and buyer of renewable electricity through Power Purchase Agreements. In his free time, Tobias is a volunteer, a world traveler, a passionate soccer fan and a competitive basketball player.
