Toni is an advocate for women and girls, working to create more inclusive policies and a more reflective democracy. She received her Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and was a recipient of the Public Service Fellowship, a full-tuition scholarship awarded to students committed to a career in public service.
Prior to pursuing her graduate degree, Toni served as the Deputy Director of RepresentWomen, a nonprofit organization that researches, educates, and advocates for rules and systems reforms to advance representation and leadership of women in the United States. At the organization, she led outreach efforts and managed the organization’s research program.
Most recently, she served as Chief of Staff for a New Jersey state senator Vin Gopal where she oversaw office operations, communications, and legislation. She also helped lead the office’s COVID-19 relief efforts, including the creation of the district’s Economic Recovery Advisory Council, consisting of over 75 community leaders and small business owners.
For two years, Toni served as the American Association of University Women as a Youth Representative to the United Nations where she organized an NGO-led briefing entitled “Young Women’s Leadership and Voices at the UN,” which was attended by 140+ participants at the 61st Commission on the Status of Women. She is also the founder of We Will Lead, an initiative bridging the gender gap in politics through programming for middle school girls on topics related to civics and politics.
In addition to her MPP, Toni graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers University, New Brunswick with bachelor’s degrees in Political Science, Women’s and Gender Studies, and Middle Eastern Studies. She is also a proud alumna of Douglass Residential College, the university’s women’s residential college. While at Rutgers, Toni received the Chancellor’s Leadership Award, Emily Hickman Award for Contribution to World Understanding, and Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship.
While she is a proud Jersey girl at heart, Toni is currently located in Washington D.C. In her spare time, she enjoys watching documentaries, traveling, spending time with her family and exploring the city with her friends.
