Tina received a Bachelor of Science in Advertising with a concentration in copywriting from The Art Institutes International, Minnesota in 2008. While attending The Art Institutes, she managed the school’s academic achievement center and tutored students in branding, English and resume writing. This is where she discovered her love for editing and the art of storytelling through resumes.
Graduating at the start of the recession taught Tina how to be resourceful and aggressive in establishing her career. Ad agencies weren’t hiring — and she had student loans to repay — so she started a communications consulting firm. Her first clients were nonprofits trying to make a big impact with a shoestring budget — just like her. This opened the door to for profit clients (with marketing budgets!) and to date she has worked with Piper Jaffray, LendingTree and Lenovo.
In 2010 Tina relocated to Austin, TX and pursued her content marketing career with Austin-based real estate firms BusinesSuites and Keller Williams Realty. She also managed communications for UT Austin’s Office of Financial Aid, where she learned the intricacies of Title IV and scholarship programming. Tina is currently an editor at OutboundEngine, where she manages content strategy for email marketing campaigns.
Tina is a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters Central Texas and also plays mom to two puppies and an African spurred tortoise. She’s obsessed with true crime podcasts and dresses that have pockets.
