Over the last few weeks we’ve been focusing on those of you who are still in undergrad and who want to get your MBA. Both Yale Silver Scholars and the HBS 2+2 programs offer students the opportunity to secure their place in business school, while also offering them time to gain professional work experience before beginning their MBA studies. Pretty cool, right? This week we’re keeping on that trend and introducing you to:
The University of Virginia Darden School of Business: Future Year Scholars Program
The Darden Future Year Scholars Program was designed for students who are either still in undergrad or who are pursuing a five year masters degree. Apply Now, Start Later Those who are accepted into Darden through the Future Year Scholars Program will have the option of deferring admission two, three, or four years in order to gain professional experience before returning to the classroom. Admitted students do not need to state ahead of time how many years they would like to defer. After the minimum two year deferral period is reached, Darden admissions officials will reach out each year to ask students when they plan to attend Darden. Who is eligible to apply? In order to qualify to apply for the Future Scholars Program, you must graduate between September 2017 and August 2018 from either an undergraduate program or a five year masters program. The admissions committee looks for exceptional students who aspire to be future ethical leaders and managers in a global world. Darden encourages students from backgrounds other than business to apply. Darden has accepted students with a diverse range of backgrounds, including biology, engineering, public policy, and economics. Why Darden? In addition to a world-class business education, all Future Scholars receive:
- A $15,000 scholarship per year of study at Darden — a total of $30,000 for the two-year MBA program.
- Individualized career support.
- A personal alumni mentor.
- Access to Darden’s student and alumni network, comprised of over 15,000 people spanning 90 countries around the world.
- Networking opportunities with current students, faculty and alumni at Darden events.
- No application fee!
