Warm Greetings. I am an applicant with a very unique situation. I wanted to apply to HKS last year but I realized that I wanted to polish my economics and Quant skills prior to applying. And besides I had applied in other colleges as well, I got an admit in an one-year MPA program at Columbia, New York. Now I realize I still want to get into HKS MPA/ID, that being my dream college. Do you think I stand a chance of a second MPA from HKS. Will my current MPA carry a deterrent effect for my application. I am highly keen on giving it a chance this year. Normally, a deferment applies to school that you were accepted to and definitely want to go to, but your current situation prevents you from engaging in the program for that particular academic year. Thus, receiving an MPA from a competing program to apply for the HKS MPA/ID may not have the “deterrent effect” you speak of. In fact, it would be essential to describe your motivation for another MPA in a clear and concise way. We can help.
